Adoption Information

Butterfly BenThe standard adoption donation for adult dogs ages 1-7 is $350. The donation for senior dogs is $250, but for our senior adopters (65 and over) $150 through our Seniors for Seniors Program.

Spayed/neutered puppies/teens (less than 1 year old) are $400, and unaltered puppies/teens are $400 plus a $50 refundable deposit to be returned to you upon proof of spay or neuter at 6 months old or date on contract.

Your application will be reviewed as soon as possible. Normally the process takes seven to ten days. Please remember that we have busy schedules; we work full-time outside our rescue volunteer work and care for our own dogs and families in addition to our fosters.

Applicants should be at least 25 years old or older. We take each application on a per case basis. If you meet all of our other criteria, but are not yet 25 years old, we will process your application to see if we may still have a match for your family.

Folks in their 60's to 80's are all different, as are their lifestyles, health and activity levels. We ask that you seriously take into consideration the dog's needs and be realistic as to how well you are able to fulfill them. Thought should be given to any physical challenges, as well as your ability to accommodate the dog's need for housebreaking, exercise, training and socialization. Life changes occur more frequently as we age. What might have worked very well in the past may not be quite the same now. Keeping the dog's best interest in mind usually results in successful placement. Most puppies and young dogs require more than just walks in the neighborhood. Mature dogs, however, might be more closely matched to your activity level and schedules along with less disruption to your routine which generally equates to a happier owner and dog.

Our ultimate goal is to match you with the best dog for your lifestyle. If you are interested in a specific dog, that dog’s needs will be taken into consideration when reviewing your application and deciding whether to place him or her in your home. Keep in mind that we do not operate on a first-come, first-served basis. In everything we do, we strive to put the dog’s needs and happiness first.

If you are approved to adopt a dog, an adoption contract must be completed before the dog can leave it's foster home.
