Bella (Cattle Dog needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
Adult Female Blue Heeler
Beautiful Bella found herself homeless when she lost not one but both of her humans to cancer. Ewenity was asked to take her in and couldn't refuse. She's 5 years old, spayed, crate- and house-trained, up-to-date with vaccinations and heartworm free. She has not been well-socialized but has received some training and loves her humans and toys. In her previous life she was left in her crate all day and as a result became chunky and reactive, but now is becoming a cattle dog again -- alert, inquisitive, and playful.
Bella has been with a foster since mid-November and has become happier, more active and affectionate, and loves exploring the yard and watching TV. She is very smart and attentive, but still wants to keep her toys (and dish towels when she can sneak them) all to herself. She's very comfortable in her crate but can also be trusted to free-roam in the house (except for the dish towel thing).
Bella gets along with her foster pack but probably wouldn't mind at all being an only dog. She would be a great companion for a fun homebody-type person who understands oddball cattle dog behaviors and has experience ignoring resource guarding displays. In return that person will get a loving, smart, interactive, eternally-devoted and watchful companion. Bella is located in Fernandina Beach (Amelia Island) just north of Jacksonville, FL. Applications are available on our website: www.ewenityfarm.org.
