Carolina Dog / Black Mouth Cur / Mixed (short coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Young : : Medium
Floyd is a joyous, handsome young mixed breed who’s a big sweetheart of a dog. He’s very much a goofy puppy still, but also trainable, agile, smart, affectionate, and fun. He loves to play with his canine packmates, bound after a ball and go for walks on the beach – he’s up for just about any activity. He's also house-trained (uses a doggy door), walks well on a leash and rides great in the car. Floyd is active but loves to be near his human and has an off switch. He isn't a barker and is friendly when meeting new people and dogs. Our best guess for age is about 1 1/2 years old. He’s neutered, micro-chipped, up-to-date with vaccines, heartworm negative, and weighs 56lbs. Floyd takes treats gently from your hand and doesn't guard his toys or food. He’s not the type to be left alone for long periods and would thrive with another playful packmate. Due to his size and exuberance, Floyd’s ideal home will have a fenced yard and if children, older ones (6+) who aren’t intimidated by a big bounding pup and can be kind but consistent trainers. He is untested with cats but gets along well with his 15lb canine packmate. Floyd will be a great match for an active, sociable, fun-loving person or family that can spend lots of time with him, continue to guide and set boundaries, and are looking for an affectionate, playful, devoted companion that will make them laugh every day. He’s currently fostered in Alachua County, Florida. His adoption fee is $350.
